BY CHRISTMAS 2020 - Videos organised by topic!

Getting the most out of Youtube...

1)  Familiarise yourself with the speed controls.  Do drop the speed of the video to help yourself understand what's going on.

2)  Use Dual Subtitles, so you can read the Russian as you hear it spoken, then quickly check the English if you're not sure what's going on.

Some video producers (like those listed below) will do this for you, but there's a free 'widget' that you can use for Google Chrome that will do it too.  It relies on machine translation, but it's usually pretty good...

Best beginners Videos:  Easy Russian

These videos are great.  The presenters are charming and fun, and very natural!  Search for 'Easy Russian Channel' on Youtube, or click here.

The videos are short (3-7mins), and mostly based on street interviews.  Topics are interesting and topical.  There are two levels:  'Easy Russian' and 'Super Easy Russian' .  All videos come with edited and proofed dual-subs as standard, (without the need for any chrome extensions).

Advanced Videos:  Russian with Max

These videos are also brilliant.  Max really understands how to talk about complex topics in relatively simple Russian.  He speaks slowly and clearly, repeating and explaining key words, and he is hugely engaging.  Search for 'Russian with Max' on Youtube, or click here.

The videos are longer (10-20mins), and mostly Max talking to the camera.  His VLOGS are really good.  Topics are interesting and topical, sometimes quite advanced.  Lots of travel and cultural themes.

If you like the videos, do support him via 'Patreon'.  You'll get access to extra resources and the chance to request future topics.
